sapphirefadedjeans: Sunday Funday Adventures.

Yesterday was full of so much fun adventure..I'm in the mood to post pics rather than to type it all out. For starters, we planned this girls day last weekend after Saturday's quest didn't work out the way we planned...those are always fun! (That I still have yet to blog about). Disa, my mom, and her sweet friend/co-worker Anke (visiting all the way from Germany!!) came along for the ride. It was really a nice time, plus a quick getaway like this was needed. I think I can speak for all of us on that :) We planned on driving directly to the Ellijay Welcome Center,to have some ideas on what to check out first. Definitely finding a place to pick some apples, maybe some fresh vegetables, and walking around the local towns were on the list.Without realizing, we completely passed that welcome center miles ago, and Siri of course added no assistance. So, we decided to walk into this adorable antique shop located in downtown Ellijay, and ask for some directions. This cute elderly man was sitting down at the register and he was just so welcoming, warm and kind to us. Long story short, I'm pretty sure he sensed the confusion we had on our faces about finding this Welcome Ctr. So he told us where we could find some nearby cool apple orchards, shoppes and even the Amicalola Falls State Park. It was a beautiful Sunday full of gorgeous mountain views, waterfalls and suprisingly, we even ran into more pumpkins, [ginormous&bright pumpkins,i should say). & Anke thinks Americans are a bit crazy with some of their traditions...ok, pumpkin traditions to be specific. She had never heard of such a silly thing, but still had fun checking it all out. Although, she still found the idea of it kinda ridiculous. It was simply a good day. We came across all kinds of jams&butters to sample, apples/apple cider, and we were even tempted to sit on those well..huge pumpkins.
